Assistant Commissioner, Strategy and Integration Branch (Headquarters)

• Prior to joining the CRA in July 2015, Mr. Giroux held the position of Director of Operations in the Liaison Secretariat for Macroeconomic Policy at the Privy Council Office (PCO) from 2011 to 2015, where he provided advice to senior PCO officials and the Prime Minister on a wide range of topics, from fiscal and economic policies to financial sector and tax policy proposals.
• Prior to this, Mr. Giroux was the Senior Chief and then the Director of the Social Policy Division at the Department of Finance.
• Previously, Mr. Giroux worked in the Tax Policy Branch of the Department of Finance, as well as the PCO and Employment and Social Development Canada
• Mr. Giroux joined the public service through the Accelerated Economist Training Program in 1995.
• He holds a bachelor's degree and a Master's degree in Economics, both from the Université de Montréal.

Sous-commissaire, Direction générale de la stratégie et de l’intégration(Adminsitration centrale)

• Avant de se joindre à l’ARC en juillet 2015, M. Giroux a occupé de 2011 à 2015 le poste de directeur des opérations du Bureau du Conseil privé (BCP) où il offrait des conseils aux représentants principaux du BCP et au premier ministre sur différents sujets, dont les politiques fiscales et économiques, et les propositions liées au secteur financier et à la politique fiscale.
• Avant d’occuper ce poste, M. Giroux était le chef principal et ensuite le directeur de la Division de la politique sociale du ministère des Finances.
• Il a aussi travaillé à la Direction générale de la politique fiscale du ministère des Finances, au BCP et à Emploi et Développement social Canada.
• M. Giroux est entré au service de la fonction publique en 1995 par l’entremise du Programme de formation accélérée pour les économistes.
• Il détient un baccalauréat et une maîtrise en économie de l’Université de Montréal.
